Connect a calendar

If your appointments are already in another calendar, Hüsli brings them into the family calendar automatically. Hüsli only reads the calendar and never changes anything there.

How it works

1. Open Settings › Calendars & mail and tap + calendar next to Connected calendars.
2. Under Where is your calendar?, tap where your appointments are today: Google (Gmail), Outlook / Hotmail, iCloud (iPhone), Samsung or I have a link.
3. Follow the numbered steps for your calendar. For Google, the quickest way is Connect with Google – see Connect with Google.
4. Paste the copied link into the Calendar link field.
5. Wait a moment: Hüsli checks the link and shows, for example, Found: 68 appointments and the name of the calendar.
6. Tap Import.
7. Under Whose calendar is this?, choose the people and tap Done.

Hüsli recognises the link

• Correct are: Google's “Secret address in iCal format” (it contains “private-”), Outlook's ICS link (ends in .ics), the link from “Public Calendar” in iCloud, and any link with webcal:// or .ics. A link with webcal:// works – Hüsli then fetches the calendar over https.
• The public Google address only shows appointments that are public. Hüsli warns you with That’s the public address and offers the guide.
• The Google Calendar web page, Outlook's HTML link or an iCloud invitation for people are not calendar links. Hüsli shows That’s not a calendar link and the matching guide.
• If a link leads to an ordinary web page, Hüsli says so after checking and lets you choose where your calendar is.

Good to know

• Parents can connect calendars. Every guide can be sent to your own address with Email me the steps – handy if you'll do it later on a computer.
• Hüsli doesn't import appointments older than three months. Imported appointments don't have their own Hüsli reminder.
• Subscribed calendars are part of Hüsli Pro (during the beta everything is free). Upload a calendar file (.ics) is free: the appointments then come in once, without later changes.
• You can connect up to 10 calendars by link. How often Hüsli updates them is explained in Update and disconnect calendars.
