What can Hüsli do with Google?

With “Connect with Google”, Hüsli only reads your calendar – it never writes or deletes anything there.

Read only. When you tap Connect with Google under Settings › Calendars & mail, you give Hüsli read access to your Google Calendar (Google calls this “See your calendars”). Hüsli never writes, changes or deletes anything in your Google Calendar – and sees neither your emails nor your contacts.

What Hüsli stores

  • The list of your calendars (name, colour, main calendar), so you can choose which ones appear in Hüsli.
  • From the calendars you tick, the appointments: title, time, place, description, repetition and the names of the attendees – no email addresses. Hüsli doesn’t import appointments older than three months.
  • An access key from Google, encrypted on our server in Switzerland. With it, Hüsli fetches new appointments about every 15 minutes.

Good to know

  • Only the members of your Hüsli see the appointments, with the rights of their role – grandparents, for example, only see “busy”.
  • Disconnect under Settings › Calendars & mail hands the access back to Google and deletes the key. You can delete the imported appointments at the same time.
  • You can also remove the access directly in your Google account: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • We don’t sell data from Google, and we don’t use it for advertising or for training AI models.
  • Sign in with Google is something else: there Hüsli only gets your name and email address, no calendar.
