Pocket money
Three jars per child – Spend, Saving goal and Long-term –, payday with a reminder and saving goals with a picture.
Pocket money is your family's pocket money book: for each child you see three jars – Spend, Saving goal and Long-term – and what was paid out, spent and saved. Hüsli never moves real money. On payday Hüsli reminds you; you pay in cash or into the child's account and tap Paid out.
How to switch it on
- Tap your profile picture at the top right and open Settings › Add-ons.
- Find the add-on Pocket money under More.
- Switch it on.
- Open More › Pocket money.
How it works
- Tap Set up pocket money for Noah on a child's card.
- Enter the Amount (CHF) and choose Every week with the day or Every month with the day of the month. From says when it starts.
- Under Split you decide how much goes into each jar (default 50 % Spend, 30 % Saving goal, 20 % Long-term). Tap Save.
- On payday Hüsli books the pocket money itself and sends you «Pocket money today: Noah CHF 5». Once you've paid it out, tap Paid out.
- With Spent you note what money from «Spend» was used for. Extra money adds e.g. birthday money, Move shifts money from one jar to another.
- Tap Add a saving goal and enter a name, the price and an emoji or picture. Hüsli shows the progress and «4 more weeks». When the money is there, tap Bought.
What the children see
- On their own device children see only their own jars and saving goals – big and simple, with a picture.
- With Move money they send you a request; you tap Allow or No.
- If you allow it, they note under Spent on … what they used money for.
Settings
Under Rules at the top of the page:
- Children may log «spent»: children note their spending themselves.
- Sternli for pocket money: you swap collected Sternli for money in the «Spend» jar, e.g. 10 Sternli = CHF 1. Off by default.
- Show on the wall tablet: the children's jars and the payday as a tile.
Good to know
- Each payday is booked exactly once, even when several devices are open. Hüsli catches up missed paydays (up to 35 days) without a notification.
- Made a mistake? In the History every entry has Undo – it stays visible, crossed out. CSV downloads every entry.
- Turn notifications about payday and reached saving goals on or off under Settings › Notifications with the topic Pocket money: payday and saving goals.
- Saved and spent per child also show in the Weekly look back.
- Pocket money is part of Pro (free during the beta).
