Child lock and parent PIN

Lock your phone or a family tablet for your child – unlock only with the parent PIN.

With the child lock you can hand your device to your child: they can only look and tick things off, but not add, delete or change anything. You unlock it with the parent PIN.

How it works

  1. Open Settings › Family & people and tap your own name.
  2. Under Access, tap Parent PIN.
  3. Under New PIN (4–8 digits, empty = remove), enter a 4-digit PIN and tap Apply.
  4. To lock, open Settings › Device & wall mode and tap Lock this device.
  5. Child lock on appears at the top. To unlock, tap Unlock.
  6. Enter the parent PIN.

Good to know

  • The lock only applies to this one device. The family’s other devices stay as they are.
  • Each parent can have their own PIN, and any of them unlocks. If there is already a PIN, changing it needs An existing parent PIN.
  • Use a PIN with exactly 4 digits: when unlocking, Hüsli checks the PIN after the fourth digit.
  • Without a PIN, Hüsli warns you when locking: then any child can remove the lock again.
  • If a child has their own device, it doesn’t need a lock: with the child role they only see the child view anyway. See Add your children.
